Opening Position: Academic Director Suzhou Campus

Missions between France and Suzhou Campus (With a few months a year on Suzhou Campus)

 

Roles & Responsabilities:

The Academic Director functions as the chief academic officer of the Suzhou campus. She/He reports to both the Head of Programs and Head of Faculty and Research.

 

The director will exercise significant independence in making decisions, following academic guidelines established by SKEMA policy committees. The Director makes decisions in consultation with the Directors of Academic Programs, about operations and curriculum at all levels, significantly affecting outcomes such as recruitment and admissions, student throughput, and graduation.

 

Her/his main duties are:

  • Recruit and hire highly qualified academic and professionally qualified faculty to teach in the academic programs offered on the Suzhou campus.
  • Deliver courses to international classes of the Suzhou campus in his/her field of expertise
  • Develop, in collaboration with Program Directors, comprehensive student recruitment strategies for all programs offered on the Suzhou campus.
  • Develop a process and methodology that facilitates and yields a high ratio of admits to matriculation.
  • Cultivate relationships with the corporate community to facilitate guest speakers, internships and post graduation employment
  • Cultivate relationships with the Chinese academic partners (current partners and development of new partnerships)
  • Create a reporting system that informs all internal constituencies of the progress and success of the recruitment effort.
  • Meet regularly with students and faculty to insure the curriculum is aligned with learning objectives and students are successfully engaged in the learning process.
  • Follow-up and support students in their daily school life (sport, student associations, health problems… )

  • Proficient in English and Chinese

 

Knowledge

  • PhD in business, management, or related field and five years of related experience in the academic area, or business, or a combination of both
  • A mix of academic and business experience preferred
